Tuesday during the White House press briefing, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders defended Vice President Mike Pence for his trip to the Indianapolis Colts game on Sunday, where he got up and left after several players knelt in a disrespectful protest during the national anthem. Pence tweeted on Sunday that he left the game saying:
“I left today’s Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem. At at time when so many Americans are inspiring our nation with their courage, resolve, and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our Flag and everything that unites us. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I don’t think it’s too much to ask NFL players to respect the Flag and our National Anthem. I stand with President Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and our National Anthem.”

The crooked press sat waiting to ask:
“Is it appropriate for the VP of the United States to spend taxpayer money to go to a football game where he’s gonna walk out if players take a knee, knowing that he would be taking that action?”
Sarah shot back defending Vice President Pence saying:
“The vice president was invited and he attended that game, and I think it’s always appropriate for the leader of our country to stand up for the national anthem, to stand up for our flag and to stand up for the men and women who died for it.” sarah huckabee sanders
