This is how it begins. Not with a whimper or bang but with a hypocrite exposing himself for all the world to see.
According to the Times of Israel, the Muslim mayor of Nazareth just nixed Christmas.
From the Times:
“Christmas celebrations in Nazareth — Jesus’ childhood hometown, according to Christian belief — have been canceled to protest the US president’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The city council announced Thursday that Mayor Ali Salam, a Muslim, had ordered the axing of all planned artistic events, including a festival and large Christmas market.”
Talk about a Grinch. Now you may be asking, as I did, isn’t Nazareth a part of Israel?
And yes it is but the city is two-thirds Israeli Muslims and Israel is a democracy so they control the top political offices in the sacred city.
“Our identity and faith aren’t up for debate,” Salam said. “The decision [by Donald Trump about Jerusalem] has taken away the joy of the holiday, and we will thus cancel the festivities this year.”
Scrooge.
The city is two-thirds Muslim and the one-third Christian. All are citizens of Israel and as we said earlier – the country is a democracy.
As is with most attacks on Trump they don’t hurt him but actually the people who launch them.
In this case, the mayor is dealing a knockout blow to his citizens of all faiths because the annual Christmas celebrations draw massive crowds.
As one would expect for such a sacred and ancient place. But not this year.
Sad. Trying to score political points and end up hurting the people – sounds a lot like the liberals in America, doesn’t it?
