Mike Pence responded to Oprah Winfrey entering the political fray in Georgia with a fiery rebuke and a reminder of just what is at stake.
Oprah, who said repeatedly she is not running against Trump in 2020, gave a rousing speech to the faithful today and implored them to get out and vote for her candidate Stacey Abrams. “Nobody paid for me to come here. Nobody even asked me to come here, I paid for myself and I approve this message,” Oprah Winfrey said in her introduction to gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams in Marietta, Georgia today.
“For anybody here who has an ancestor who didn’t have the right to vote — and you are choosing not to vote… You are dishonoring your family,” Oprah Winfrey said at a campaign event for Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. (See Video Below)
Enter Mike Pence, who was also in Georgia to rally the faithful and he went right after Oprah and the other Hollywood players who insist on inserting them in local politics.
“I heard Oprah was in town today. And I heard Will Ferrell was going door-to-door the other day. Well I’d like to remind Stacey and Oprah and Will Ferrell — I’m kind of a big deal, too,” Vice President Mike Pence said stumping for gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp
“And I’ve got a message for all of Stacey Abrams’ liberal Hollywood friends: This ain’t Hollywood. This is Georgia. And Georgia wants a governor that’s going to put Georgia values and Georgia first. And Brian Kemp is going to do just that,” Pence added before ending with “a vote for Brian Kemp is tantamount to support for President Donald Trump.”
