Kyle Rittenhouse has been arrested for first-degree murder for his role in three shooting last night in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
There have been many videos on social media that show him acting in self-defense so this may be a hard case to make stick.
That said the story behind the first shooting, which sparked the chase where he was clearly acting in self-defense, has not been fully exposed or explained by the media or the cops. So more will come out.
Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting of three people ― two fatally ― during a third night of protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, county Sheriff David Beth told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The suspect, 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, was reportedly arrested in his hometown of Antioch, Illinois, and charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday. Police had been searching for him after a man holding a long gun was captured on video shooting several people during the protests and then fleeing the scene.
Protesters clashed with police outside the Kenosha County Courthouse after a local white police officer shot Jacob Blake, a Black man, multiple times in the back with his children nearby over the weekend.
The third night of demonstrations appeared to turn deadly when heavily armed white vigilantes entered into the mix.
Investigators say they are focusing on a group of men with guns who were lined up outside some businesses a few blocks down the road from the courthouse, Beth told The New York Times. Ostensibly, the vigilantes were there to “protect” businesses from fires that had been set during previous nights of demonstrations.
Still no signs of malicious intentions, racist motivations, though he did understand the potential threat of being at this event, hence the firearm
