WHAT? How did Jesse Jackson just compare playing in NFL to slavery?
The show Undisputed on the sports network Fox Sports 1 brought in Jesse Jackson, aka Karin Stanford’s baby daddy, to talk about (what else?!) the National Football League and the ongoing protests against injustice, racism, President Trump, the death of Michael Brown or whatever.
Asked by Skip Bayless what now-unemployed quarterback Colin Kaepernick has meant to him, Jackson responded by comparing Kaepernick to Muhammad Ali, and thereafter saying: “To go from picking cotton balls to picking footballs and basketballs without freedom is not very much progress.”
Jackson then whined that NFL players do not have guaranteed contracts and said “that’s workplace harassment, that’s illegal.”
Jackson stopped short of advising NFL players to no longer perform their supposedly “illegal” contracts.
Neither Bayless nor the other hosts of the show followed up on Jackson’s statements by asking whether NFL players, unlike slaves, were perfectly free to leave their (obviously oppressive) work situations.
Jackson agreed with Bayless’s suggestion that Kapernick was “whiteballed,” saying that there was collusion against Kaepernick by NFL owners.
DO YOU DISAGREE THAT MILLION-DOLLAR NFL CONTRACTS ARE THE EQUIVALENT OF SLAVERY? IF SO, POST AND SHARE!!!NFL
